During teenage years, physical changes and school pressures often make teenagers feel psychologically or emotionally unstable. Some teenagers may even have eating disorders. Eating disorders can often cause serious health risks.
Depression or anxiety sometimes can cause eating disorders, especially during puberty. To cure eating disorders, family counseling or therapy is critical. Parents and other family members should help and encourage the patient to gradually establish a healthy diet, and thus maintain a healthy social image.
If necessary, parents can also try other treatment options, and medical doctors, dietitians or school teachers can also be involved to help.
