Salt Reduction

Eating too much salt can lead to high blood pressure, and increase cardiovascular disease risk. To maintain a healthy diet, you need to reduce salt. Research show that, sodium intake per day should not be more than 2300 milligrams (about a teaspoon). Even though human body needs proper salt intake, excess salt consumption should be avoided.

Too much salt may also cause dizziness, muscle cramps, or even neurological problems. Studies also show that, excessive salt intake may increase stroke risks, or cause some cardiovascular diseases. Some canned or processed foods may contain high sodium, so you will need to read food labels carefully.
