Fish and Oatmeal

Research shows that, fatty fish contains rich omega-3 fatty acids, and eating fatty fish can lower cholesterol level. Omega-3 fatty acids can also help reduce blood pressure and reduce blood clots.

These fish contains high omega-3 fatty acids: salmon, mackerel, herring, sardines and albacore tuna. Canola oil also contains omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 supplement may also be used, but these supplements do not have all nutrients (such as selenium).

Oatmeal and oat bran contains soluble fiber, which reduces lipoprotein. Soluble fiber tend to reduce cholesterol absorption, helping to lower the overall cholesterol level.
