Low-fat Cooking

Low-fat Cooking

A healthy diet focuses on low-fat protein and unsaturated fats, as these protein and fats can help lower blood pressure and improve heart health. Fish, poultry and fat-free dairy products often contain low-fat protein. Olive oil, avocados and nuts normally have rich unsaturated fats.

If possible, you should always opt for fresh foods. If you need to buy convenience or frozen foods, you should choose low-sodium and low-fat.

Some cookwares can be very useful, such as nonstick cookware. Nonstick cookware (such as hard-anodized aluminum or cast iron cookware) can help reduce using cooking oil.
